Another cajun seasoning.
- 1 cup salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
- 1⁄2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 12 teaspoons chili powder
- Mix in a large bowl and store in a spice shaker.
Annie, Used this on shrimp and WOW!!! I am going to pack this into small bottles and give as gifts. I like the hint of nutmeg. Thnaks for posting!
My husband made this last moment to go with some shrimp on the grill... He did not use the whole cup of salt, more like a few tablespoons... It turned out GREAT. Not super spicy but with a bit of a kick. It was great on our shrimp, and will be great on other things as well I am sure. Thanks!
A wonderful seasoning to use, whether in a pinch or not~and I was in a pinch! I used this for the wonderful Recipe #111530, and just never keep this on hand. Well, I will now that I know this is such a breeze to make. I halved this recipe easily, but for our own taste, increased the garlic powder to the same (1 tablespoon) and it came out terrific.
