My neighbor had cajun peanuts from Feridies at holiday time. They were awesome but impossible to find in the stores. I found this recipe on cooks.com and wanted to hold onto it on zaar. I will rate once I make some. Happy munching!
- 1 jar planters unsalted peanuts
- 1.23 ml salt
- 1.23 ml chili powder
- 0.13-0.19 ml Tabasco sauce
- 0.25 ml cayenne pepper
- 14.79 ml salad oil
- Mix salt, chili powder, cayenne pepper, peanuts and oil together. Place on cookie sheet. Roast in 350 degree oven until golden brown.
These were really easy to make and came out perfectly! They were nicely spiced and just great for nibbling. I brought them to a friend's bday party and everyone loved them!

These were very good. I used Cholula instead of tabasco and chipotle powder instead of the cayenne. Added a smokey, mexican flair. Very very good. Thanks for posting this!
UPDATE 4-14-10: I've made this at least 5 times since finding it. We love the spiciness of the seasonings. I use it with almonds, walnuts and pecans. I even used it for roasted sweet potatoes!! 2-5-10 Very good! I loved the spiciness of these peanuts. I didn't add salt since my peanuts were lightly salted. Loved how they tasted after cooking them in the oven. Watch it -- they cook rather quickly!
