My martini-style version of the Brazilian national drink, the caipirinha. Can be made sweet or tart to taste. I like to balance the tartness of the citrus and the pungency of the alcohol with a discreet amount of sugar. Should be very smooth, not too overpowering. Great on a hot summer day!

  1. In cocktail shaker, combine lime juice, sugar, cachaca, and vodka.
  2. Add ice and shake until thoroughly chilled and frothy.
  3. Serve in a chilled martini glass.
