  • Brew coffee and pour directly into a glass carafe with all the citrus peels and cloves at the bottom.
  • Allow to come to room temperature, strain, and store covered in the refrigerator.
  • Pour over ice in tall glasses and serve with milk and brown sugar, if desired (the addition of milk and sugar intensifies the spices, so taste as you go).

  1. I've never had this at Starbucks... but that doesn't matter! Gevalia Dark roast was my brew of choice. I loved this citrus spiced coffee iced and I loved it warmed with hot milk. If my favorite chai had a cousin, this Cafe Rio is it! Chai for a relaxing indulgence, Cafe Rio for an energizing indulgence. I think I'm hooked! Thanks for sharing.
