I've never had this at Starbucks... but that doesn't matter! Gevalia Dark roast was my brew of choice. I loved this citrus spiced coffee iced and I loved it warmed with hot milk. If my favorite chai had a cousin, this Cafe Rio is it! Chai for a relaxing indulgence, Cafe Rio for an energizing indulgence. I think I'm hooked! Thanks for sharing.
- 4 cups hot strong coffee
- 4 slices orange rind
- 4 slices lemons, rind of
- 8 whole cloves
- brown sugar
Directions See How It's Made
- Brew coffee and pour directly into a glass carafe with all the citrus peels and cloves at the bottom.
- Allow to come to room temperature, strain, and store covered in the refrigerator.
- Pour over ice in tall glasses and serve with milk and brown sugar, if desired (the addition of milk and sugar intensifies the spices, so taste as you go).
