Sooo glad to have this recipe as I don't like using raw eggs in any dish. This is my first time to use an egg substitute and it worked great. Will use this dressing often. : )
I love caesar salad, and this version was delicious. I used all romaine because that is what I had on hand. I used anchovy paste instead of anchovy fillets, and shaved the parm instead of grating (so its easier to get on my fork!) Delicious lunch for me today. Thanks for sharing! Made for Market Tag game.
I followed this recipe as listed except for using only romaine lettuce and it turned out perfect. I will be making this again. Thanks so much for sharing your 5 star recipe!!
Caesar Salad is my husband's favourite and I followed your recipe;tured out great. I had no croutons and didn't have time to make any but it was not missed. Thanks for posting. I made this for Australian/New Zealand RECIPE SWAP September. Rita
Oh, I love this salad dressing--I think it's the addition of the djon(I used about 1/2 teas.). Did use anchovies for the spicy-salty taste. Add some sliced cooked chicken: Heavenly lunch! Will make this again. Made for "Recommend" tag game.
I love salads, I love caesar and I am in heaven because this is what I equate to the honest-to-goodness Caesar Salad. I didn't really change anything, other then halving this recipe and I did use the optional anchovy fillets. I made this in the morning to serve for the 1st course last night, so it gathered steam and was amazingly smooth but flavorable coming from resting in the fridge for a couple of hours. I just remixed this in the blender at the last minute to remix the creaminess of the dressing. The lemon juice, I used fresh was a must, as in the garlic cloves are too. I had fresh lettuces from the garden so chilled them with a couple of cucumbers and they were crisp and dry for the wonderful dressing that got mixed in the old wooden salad bowl. Exceptional taste and will make this often, Thanks Lori Made in honor of Lori and her pup, Breah *SSC Pet Parade* July 2008.
