  1. HEY!!! Why grams for meat portions, then conventional measurements? We buy pounds/ounces when shopping. Someone at Genius Kitchen had a "better idea," but it wasn't!

  2. wonderful. made my own modifications- turkey bacon, no marjoram or syrup, added rice- still came out fantastic. took me back to my childhood.

  3. Delicious. I made it substituting the potatos and bacon with 1/2 cup pearl barley, a bit more liquid and lamb. Good food for rainy fall weather...

  4. Unbelievable. We forgot about the syrup and used seasoned-salt. Threw in halfed Okra pods (they were there). We also used bacon and corned-beef. This is the best meal i have had in weeks.

  5. This is a wonderful comfort food dish! I used smoked ham hocks. Wonderful flavor! I didn't serve it with jam, but I did add dark Karo syrup at the end! Thanks for the wonderful dish!
