    A recipe by my favourite chef John Hadamuscin from Enchanted Evenings. I have changed it slightly to accommodate my family's preferences. I hope you enjoy this.

    Ingredients:

    Directions:

      Cook bacon crisp. Reserve.
    2. 2
      Sauté onion, shallot, garlic, apple and cabbage for 20 minutes.

      Turn up heat and add the stock, cider, vinegar and sugar.
    4. 4
      Cook 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until most of the liquid is gone.

      Boil potatoes in salted water for 20 minutes until tender.
    6. 6
      Preheat oven to 400°F Grease pan.
    7. 7
      Drain and mash the potatoes.
    8. 8
      With a fork mix in the butter, then milk and lastly the egg.

      Add the cabbage mixture, bacon, parsley and pepper flakes, mix well.

      Pour into baking dish and bake 20 minutes.

      We had this with our dinner the other night & it was great an interesting way to serve cabbage. It did take a lot of preparation though so not something that I would probably make regularly but nice occasionally.

      This was thoroughly enjoyed by my family. The flavours came together well for a very satisfying meal.

      Good stuff... Goooooood Stuff... I knew it would be from the ingredients.. We had some kielbasa with it and it hit the spot. Tomorrow gonna make fried patties with the leftovers.. can't wait... mmmmmmmmm
