From Real Simple, an accompaniment to grilled meat. Napa cabbage is very pretty, but regular cabbage tastes just fine. A citrusy twist on a summer favorite.
- 1⁄4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 small head napa cabbage or 1 small head green cabbage, thinly sliced, about 6 cups
- 1 cup cilantro leaf
- Combine the first six ingredients in a large bowl,.
- Add the cabbage and cilantro and toss to combine.
Made this pretty much as given, though I did cut it in half for the 2 of us. Very much enjoyed the citrus dressing on this easy-to-make salad. Thanks for sharing the recipe. [Made & reviewed in 1-2-3 Hits recipe tag]
What a simple and refreshing salad. I cut the recipe in half and got 3 servings. I used the napa cabbage (it's like a lettuce/cabbage combo). This is so light and has just a touch of tang to it. Very good and would complement any Asian dish. I served it with Butterflied Korean Pork Tenderloin and Sweet Potato Biscuits and leftover rice pilaf. Yum! Thanks for posting. :)
A fresh flavored Asian style salad. I used lightly blanched green cabbage leaves left over from Great Grandma's Stuffed Cabbage Rolls, freshly squeezed orange juice, regular white vinegar, white sesame seeds, & cream honey. I forgot the salt but I think it doesn't need it. Made for 1~2~3 Hits Tag Game - Winter 2010.
