A great side dish for any occasion, very tasty and easy to make.

  1. Melt butter, add onion and stir fry 2 minute.
  2. Add carrots, cabbage, salt and celery seed.
  3. Cover and cook over med. heat 10 minutes.
  4. Stir occasionally.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice.

We liked this a lot. Nice way to serve cabbage. I had several baby cabbages, so I just tore the leaves instead of chopping them and I made carrot ribbons, it came out looking quite pretty and very tasty with the celery seed and touch of lemon. Instead of the butter I used olive oil. Thanks for posting , I will make it again.

I cheated a bit and used a prepared bag of grated carrots and cabbage, it cooked quickly. I really liked the added lemon and celery seeds, added some freshly ground pepper too. I will definitely be using this basic recipe again and again.

This dish is fantastic! Our family likes cabbage, and this was a different way to prepare it. It was easy to make, but you would never know it, yum, yum. I happened to see some bacon bits left over in a jar in my fridge and tossed them in too. I'll certainly make this over and over, and maybe sometime try adding some leftover diced or chopped ham so I could make a meal in one pot. Thank you so much, SooZee for such a great recipe. We all LOVED it!!
