I have not tried these myself, but Mom has and they are wonderful and less muss and fuss.
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1⁄2 cup margarine or 1⁄2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
- 1⁄4 cup margarine or 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon flour
- Combine flour and sugar, then cut 1/2 cup margerine. Press into a 9 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes.
- Beat eggs and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the rest of the ingredients and pour over the base. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cool and cut.
These certainly are easy to do. Quite rich but then buttertarts are rich aren't they?? I froze leftovers for future company. Thanks CookingMonster.
