  • Combine all the ingredients except for the vanilla in a heavy saucepan. Stirring constantly, bring the sauce to a boil over high heat.
  • Boil for 5 minutes from the time it starts to bubble at a full rolling boil.
  • Remove from the heat.
  • Add the vanilla.
  • Let cool slightly and serve warm.
