A simple sauce that is wonderful warm served over ice cream.
- 1⁄2 cup light corn syrup
- 4 tablespoons sweet butter
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Combine all the ingredients except for the vanilla in a heavy saucepan. Stirring constantly, bring the sauce to a boil over high heat.
- Boil for 5 minutes from the time it starts to bubble at a full rolling boil.
- Remove from the heat.
- Add the vanilla.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm.
