So easy you can do it in a jiff and have a wonderful from-scratch treat. Nice crunch and wonderful gooy center. Be careful not to overcook. You may want to make two batches as they will go quickly.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350. Line an 8x8 pan with foil and grease it.
  2. Melt the butter, transfer it to a bowl and, using a mixer, beat in the sugar until the mixture is very smooth. Beat in the egg, salt, and vanilla. Stir in the flour. Stir in the nuts.
  3. Transfer batter to the prepared pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes or until just barely set. Do not overbake!
