So easy you can do it in a jiff and have a wonderful from-scratch treat. Nice crunch and wonderful gooy center. Be careful not to overcook. You may want to make two batches as they will go quickly.
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup toasted pecans or 1 cup macadamia nuts
Directions See How It's Made
- Preheat the oven to 350. Line an 8x8 pan with foil and grease it.
- Melt the butter, transfer it to a bowl and, using a mixer, beat in the sugar until the mixture is very smooth. Beat in the egg, salt, and vanilla. Stir in the flour. Stir in the nuts.
- Transfer batter to the prepared pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes or until just barely set. Do not overbake!
