"These buttermilk substitutions were posted on the internet in one article that I had clicked on, some of which I had never heard of. I thought they were worth posting on this site. The cooking time is actually the standing time."

ingredients

• 1 cup milk
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice, combined, or
• 1 tablespoon vinegar, combined or
• 1 cup milk
• 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, combined or
• 1⁄3 cup milk
• 2⁄3 cup plain yogurt, combined or
• 1⁄3 cup milk
• 2⁄3 cup sour cream, combined

directions

1. Mix any one of the combinations thoroughly, and let stand on the counter for at least 10 minutes.
2. Note: The original recipe said 1 PART milk to 2 PARTS of either the yogurt or sour cream, but this computer doesn't recognize 'parts', so I subbed in the cups.
