YUMMY!!! Food.com won't let me put stars - but I give them a 5!
Super TASTY and very FLUFFY scones! They were so easy and quick to put together and made for a wonderful breakfast treat this morning. I made some of them without the sugar and topped them with grated cheese before baking, which was really nice as well. These scones have a wonderful texture and a delicate not overly sweet taste. I made the full batch and got 10 big scones out of it. Thanks so much for sharing this gem of a recipe, I'm Pat! I will surely make it again! Delicious scones/biscuits!!! So quick and easy using the self-raising flour. I too, didn't add the sugar as was serving with a sweet fruit salad. I cut the recipe to serve 4 and that worked out perfectly. Thanks for sharing I'mPat. Made for PRMR tag.
Mine didn't rise very high but they were delicious and oh so simple and quick to make. I skipped any sweetening just because I don't prefer sweetened biscuits to accompany a meal. They were perfect with the soup for lunch. Yummm. Made for Photo Tag
I made this recipe exactly as written with no deviations. A friend and I made this recipe at her home. This is a very good scone recipe! It is was easy to prepare and as you can see from my photos, it has a flaky texture and we truly enjoyed the flavor.
These were excellant scones Pat, just wonderful served with a little whipped cream and rhubarb strawberry jam. I enjoyed these tasty little treasures so much, they were light, fluffy and very flavorful. I shaped the biscuits with a butterfly cookie cutter and baked them on a cookie sheet. Thanks so much for sharing this lovely recipe.
