  • .Line a 9 in pie plate with crust.
  • Trim, seal and flute edges.
  • In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour,and salt.
  • In another large bowl beat buttermilk,eggs,butter,lemon juice,lemon peel and vanilla.
  • Add to dry mixture, mix well.
  • Pour into pie crust.
  • Sprinkle with nutmeg.
  • Bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce tempeture to 325 and bake 40 -45 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes clean.
  • Cool and refridgerate.
