Buttermilk Glaze

"This is a glaze that goes on buttermilk pound cakes."

• Yields: 1/2 cup

ingredients

• 2 tablespoons buttermilk
• 1⁄4 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
• 3⁄4 teaspoon cornstarch
• 1⁄8 teaspoon baking soda
• 3⁄4 teaspoon vanilla extract

directions

1. Bring first 5 ingredients to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly Remove from heat, and cool mixture slightly.
2. Stir in vanilla.
