This has great flavor and is nice and fluffy.


  1. BEAT butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy; gradually add powdered sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  2. Add milk, beating until spreading consistency. Stir in vanilla.

I used this when I made Mom's Chocolate Cupcakes and it was wonderful. I added the vanilla and milk in at the same time, then turned up my KitchenAid to a higher speed and whipped it really well for a few minutes. This was the best, fluffiest frosting I've ever had or made, and since it doesn't use shortening, I'm even more pleased to have this recipe! Thanks, Alia!
