This is one of my MIL's "specialties". Three generations have grown up eating and LOVING this TREAT!!

  1. Make dough with shortening, flour, baking powder, buttermilk, baking soda and salt.
  2. Roll out as for a pie crust.
  3. Mix butter, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon to make filling.
  4. Spread filling over crust and fold crust in half.
  5. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Bake 350* 25 minutes.

now I know, mom does like you best. i didn't know she shared this with anybody. mine turned out almost like hers. i'm not the best at pie crust yet.
