This is L.G's recipe. It is a perfect frosting for cut-outs. Make sure that the frosting is whipped thick. Set done cookie on table to dry for several hours.
- 1⁄3 cup butter
- 4 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 2 -3 tablespoons whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 dash almond flavoring
- Cream butter. Add remaining ingredients. Beat until frosting is smooth.
- Add food coloring in separate bowls or cups.
Perfect frosting! Made it quick this morning for my daughter to take to school to frost cookies. It is very thick, that is for sure. I think I added a touch more milk but that is just a personal preference. I am putting this in my Holidays cookbook so I don't lose it. I will definitely use it in a week or so for our Christmas Sugar cookies. Thanks!
