This smelled wonderful...do NOT use margerine though! I ran out of butter and used 1/2 cup margerine. I won't go into details:( To boot, after only about five minutes in the oven, the top began to darken alarmingly. I turned the temperature down a bit, which led to a few extra minutes of baking. I think this is what gave it the slightly rubbery texture. I hope to try this again and follow the directions without wavering...it is certainly simple enough:)


  1. Whip butter and sugar in a mixer, add eggs, whip until sugar is dissolved and add flour gradually.
  2. Grate lemon peel and add to the dough.
  3. Put the dough in a well greased mold and bake in a preheated oven for 35 minutes at 200°C (392°F).
