Doubled the recipe and did the whole thing in a crock pot with frozen chicken breasts on high for 4 hours. Shredded the chicken in the crock, stirred to combine, and served at our monthly "game night". Served with a celery/raddish/carot slaw tossed in bleu cheese dressing. A H-U-G-E hit! Thank you ever so much for this crowd-pleasing recipe!
Made recipe as posted with one exception.. added an teaspoon extra chili powder. Made and gone in one night.. The sauce was excellent too. Something for me to try in the crockpot too in the future. Made for I recommend tag.
My family loves this recipe and now prefers it to Sloppy Joes. I also use any leftover baked chicken or rotisserie chicken from the deli and throw everything into the crockpot to warm so it's a no fuss delicious meal for the whole family. I serve the sandwiches with crunchy baked potato wedges, blue cheese dressing for dipping and pickle spears. Thanks for posting.
Wow this is terrific!! My hubby and son devoured all four sandwiches! I used grilled chicken and followed the instructions completely! A huge hit and so simple to make! I know they will be asking for these often. Thanks flower for another keeper of a recipe! Made for Potluck Tag.
This was a really fabulous and easy sandwich. Since I had left over chicken I used that instead of the pre-packaged chicken. It was a great sauce, spicy enough and had enough of a kick. My whole family enjoyed it and asked to have it again! Thanks flower7! This was my last recipe to make for flower7 in Fall Pac 2008. Thanks, flower7 for being a wonderful baby.
Excellent Sandwich. DH absolutely loved it. I made as directed but only used 4 tablespoons butter. Made for Camera-less Game #5. Thanks Flower.
