  1. This was very good! I wanted something different for supper so I thought I would give it a try. I followed the advice of some of the other reviewers. I cubed the potatoes and mixed them right in with the beef and soup mixture. I also added onion and a dash of worshteshire (sp?) sauce to the hamburger while it was cooking. I placed some cheese on top and topped it off with buscuits in the last 10 minutes of cooking. YUMMY!

  2. My family and myself eat this at least three times a month, it's DHs favourite and I love cooking it!! So easy!! I have made a few changes though: I also chop up an onion into it, add a bit of black pepper, crumble a beef stock cube.. and after cooking covered, I uncover it and brown some cheese on top. Delicious!

  3. I was EXTREMELY skeptical of the idea of mixing cream of chicken soup with the vegetable beef soup - HOWEVER, this was great! It reminds me of a pot roast dinner! My kids and husband all loved it, and DH took it for lunch the next day, and said it was as good as the night before. We'll definitely be making this again. I used red potatoes, cutting them up fairly small for faster cooking time. I also cooked 1/2 an onion with the ground beef and a pinch of minced garlic (we're garlic lovers). This was great - we'll definitely be making again - especially on those crazy ballpark nights!

  5. Love this recipe! I added carrots and onion into the mixture and topped with cheese. The only things I would recommend are: Definitely add your own spices or flavoring to the dish as it will come out rather bland if you don't & depending on you desired outcome, limit the vegetable soup as it can make the final result a tad on the liquid side. Otherwise I think this is a great recipe that really stretches the dollar. We have enough leftovers for at least 2 more dinners serving 2 people.

Tweaks

  1. Yummy! I used dehydrated hash browns in place of the potatoes, so I just did it all up in a skillet. I also added some frozen mixed veggies and beef broth as I didn't have the soup on hand. Fast and easy, and everyone, including my 3 picky non-veggie eaters ate it up. Thanks!
