I doubled the recipe using jneen's tips. They never hardened enough - just became peanut butter mush.

My husband and I love these, but thought that the whipped cream topping and chocolate squares were just not sweet enough. Now I mix chocolate icing into the whipped cream instead of the baking squares. It is fantastic!!!

Gone in seconds!!! I made a batch for the holidays as gifts as suggested by Kraft foods. I had to make a second batch just for the family. I just LOVE recipezaar. Thanks for posting the recipe,I had lost it!

This recipe made everyone crazy in my house...my son keeps asking me for more BUGeye bars. My daughter was mad she didn't get to help make them, but enjoyed gobbling them down. BF is hiding his own personal stash in the fridge. Even the MIL had a second piece. I personally found it to be a little too sweet, but I think that is just me. Everyone else LOVED it. I also made them with store brand ingredients, and doubled the recipe. I also subbed semi-sweet chocolate chips for the baking squares. This resulted in a slightly longer time in the microwave, but texture and taste were all right on. Thanks you for a wonderful recipe!

I just made these last night for the second time. My co-worker brought them and gave me the recipe. I double it and put it in a 9 x 13 pan. For the doubled recipe, it's a box of confectioner's sugar and an 18 oz jar of peanut butter. It also then takes an entire 8 oz tub of whipped topping and just double the other ingredients. I did use store brand ingredients and it was fine.
