  1. combine chicken broth and water, heat.
  2. saute onion and garlic in oil, add to broth.
  3. add ham, salt, and pepper.
  4. bring to boil.
  5. add spaghetti and brussels sprouts and bring to a boil.
  6. cook till spaghetti is al dente.
  7. serve with parmesan cheese on the side.
