  1. WOW!!!!! Was this delicious!!! I needed a crock pot recipe for the day and found this one. I put it together the night before in the crock pot dish and put it in the refrigerator over night, then in the morning I put it in the crockpot and turned it on and VOILA, when I came home the house smelled WONDERFUL, and soooo comforting on a cold day. It was the perfect dinner. Thanks for posting!!!!

  2. I also used one onion and added celery in place of okra. Delicious recipe! Thanx, Bev!

  3. This was a great stew! I used cut up chicken breasts and I had to make it without the Okra but it sure didn't take away the great taste of the stew. It's a little hard to find things like here but when I do I'll get some for the next time I make it. Thanks for super little recipe.

  4. Wonderful Stew! The only thing different that I did was use one large onion instead of the three and I added all my veggies at once also..used skinless chicken breast strips in mine....Was yummy and hearty! Thanks for a great recipe Bev!!

  5. A marvelous stew... a marvelous meal. Only substitution I made was adding celery instead of okra. (I had no okra on hand, and an abundance of celery)... This one will definitely be a family favorite from this day onward. Trust me, I won't lose this recipe! Thanks, Bev, for posting a super winter day's meal!
