Brownies for Kid's Easy Bake Oven

A cheap alternative to the expensive mixes! My daughter loves to bake with her little oven and these ingredients I almost always have on hand.

• Total Time: 17 mins
• Prep Time: 5 mins
• Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients:

Yield: 4 bite si ...

• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1 tablespoon milk
• 2 teaspoons sugar
• 2 teaspoons Quik chocolate milk mix (or other brand)
• 1 1/2 teaspoons shortening
• 1 pinch baking soda
• 1 dash salt

Glaze

• 3 teaspoons icing sugar
• 1 teaspoon Quik chocolate milk mix
• 1/2 teaspoon milk

Directions:

1. Grease Easy Bake pan.
2. In a bowl, mix all ingredients, except glaze, until smooth.
3. Spread mixture in pan.
4. Bake 12 minutes.
5. Cool.
6. Mix glaze ingredients together until smooth.
7. Spread on cooled brownies.
8. Let stand 2 minutes.
9. Cut into mini wedges and serve.

We tried out a couple of unsuccessful recipies before landing on this one. It's more like a little chocolate cake than a brownie, but looks quite pretty and taste pretty darned good for an Easy Bake recipie! I wasn't sure if the "quick chocolate milk mix" referred to a powder or a syrup, so I used chocolate syrup and added a teaspoon of powdered unsweetened cocoa too. Also, I used 2 teaspoons of real butter, rather than 1 & 1/2 tsp shortening. As for the glaze...I left the milk out altogether. I'm much more fond of the "real" ingredients than the pricy chemical-loaded pre-made mixes for the Easy Bake Oven.
