I had an unbelievable chocolate craving, and these brownies sure did the trick! Very easy to make, and very tasty! Instead of walnuts, I used some slivered almonds that I wanted to use up. After pouring on the glaze, I sprinkled a few more almonds on top. Next time, I think I will make a double batch, as suggested in step 6 - a single batch just disappears too quickly! However, in the directions for making the cocoa glaze, it doesn't say when we're supposed to add the vanilla, so I just added it when I added the butter. Came out fine.

Delicious! I was worried when they came out because they look a little wet, but they are just gooey and chewy and wonderful! I don't like nuts in my brownies so I left those out. In the glaze I substituted peppermint extract for vanilla which gave it a really fun flavor. Thanks for the recipe!

Wow - this is an incredible recipe! So easy and fast, it was hard to imagine they would be great - but they are! Probably the best homemade brownie I've ever had. Didn't use the glaze because I had some leftover chocolate espresso icing from a previous attempt. Yum!!! Thanks, Tweety Grams!

These are so good. I made this recipe last night and my only complaint was I should have doubled the batch. They are chocolatey, gooey and sinful. Thank you for sharing this delicious brownie with us.

These brownies were a hit! I normally use a mix, but didn't have one on hand today, so thought I would give this one a try since it has so many good reviews. My children loved it and so did I!! I think I'll be making these in the future rather than using a mix.

This was such a great recipe. All the family said to make them again. The icing just made them. Thanks for posting this recipe.

This is my favorite brownie recipe. I live in Denver and this recipe works well at high altitude. Thanks so much for this great recipe!

the best brownies I don't put the nuts in them since I have a little one under two and she is allergy prone but other than that they are awesome

I wish I had had this recipe when my kids were small, it is simple and would be great for little helpers! But it was an easy dessert to pop in after work, too, with ingredients already in the pantry. They are slightly different from box-mix brownies in that they are more rich and less sweet, but they were very chocolatey and chewy and received raves from the family.
I followed the recipe exactly, without the nuts, because I didn't have any on hand. When it came to the glaze, I used a fork to poke holes all over the top of the brownies when they came out of the oven, then poured the glaze over the hot brownies. The glaze soaked into the holes as well as glazing the top and the results were great. Good thing I made a double batch!

Very rich fudgey flavor. Easy to make and I like that I didn't have to drag my mixer out. I have arthritis in my hands but still could mix by hand.

This would probably be 3 stars from me, but dh liked it. My all-purpose flour bin was empty, and I didn't want to go to the basement to refill it, and plus I wanted to make these healthier, so I used whole wheat pastry flour for all the flour. I also added chia and flax seeds, and substituted sucanat for half the sugar. I would try this next time with regular flour; this turned out quite crumbly and cake-y, while I was hoping for a chewy brownie. Not overly sweet, which was good.

I liked the taste (not too sweet); however, these did not turn out to be chewy like the description said. They were also a bit on the dry side. I ended up, essentially, with a very good chocolate cake, but it just wasn't the chewy brownie I was looking for.

Perfect...and in one pan...I may never be allowed to use a mix again :) Kids and DH loved them. I didn't use nuts or the glaze. We love our brownies unfrosted.
