  • Melt, and bring to a boil.
  • When it has bubbles all the way across the top of surface now time.
  • Boil hard one minute only.
  • Remove from heat, add vanilla.

  1. Awesome brownie frosting recipe. Super quick and easy. The only thing I would like to suggest is that, you pour the frosting over the brownies as soon as it cools down a bit, but is still just a tad warm, for it will become thick, but if that happens, just heat up for about 3 seconds. I will use this recipe over and over again. Thanks for the recipe.

  2. Tried it today exactly how the recipe says and it turned out perfectly! Thanks for a great alternative to icing sugar frosting.

  3. Delicious! Perfect for brownies or cake. Thanks!

  4. This was very grainy..not smooth at all. Also the flavor was lacking. Just more of a sugary-sweet than a chocolately flavor. It set up very similar to those no-bake oatmeal cookies, which makes sense given the ingredients are pretty much the same (minus the oatmeal of corse). I will not be using this recipe again.

  5. I was quite impressed with this. I used this with recipe #159273. I chose this for the ease since I was making a simple cake, thought it would only be fitting to do a simple and less time consuming recipe for the frosting. I am so glad I did. The taste kind of reminded me of the frosting on a hostess cupcake. Thanks for sharing.

Tweaks

  1. So easy! I subbed Splenda SugarBlend for the sugar, and ended up simmering for a few minutes longer after step 4. Mine turned out more thin, like a glaze, because of my sugar sub. But it was great over 1 Pan Fudge Cake! Definitely will make again.
