This is a most awesome syrup for drizzling on sweet buns, pancakes, ice cream, crepes, you name it! Between the buttery brown sugar goodness, the lick of madagascar vanilla paste, and kiss of cinnamon, this is truely delicious!
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 2⁄3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 cup golden raisins or 1⁄2 cup pecan pieces or 1⁄2 cup walnut pieces
- 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Simmer (at low boil) together butter, water, brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins for 1 minute. Stir in vanila bean paste.
Very good! Thick, rich and sweet. Used vanilla extract and added after I took the mixture off the stove. Used pecans and served with Maple Pecan Buttermilk Pancakes. Delicious as is, though for pancakes, I'd probably double the recipe, and use only 1/2 cup pecans. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
