This tasty sauce can be served over white cake, gingerbread cake or christmas pudding
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1⁄8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1⁄2 cup boiling water
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
- Place all ingredients, except water and vanilla in saucepan.
- Blend together over low heat until butter is melted.
- Turn up heat to medium.
- Slowly add boiling water, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla.
