  1. Excellent recipes. Most recipes for brown sugar pie I've found before turn out a soupy mess. The lower heat and longer cooking time for this recipe works well. I usually have to cook it a little longer than an hour but just keep an eye on it.

  3. I am re-reviewing this recipe. The first time I made it I ended up with a soupy mess, which was a month ago, and it's been bugging me ever since. I am happy to report that I am the one that made the mistake, because when made properly this pie is fantastic. I think I added too few eggs last time. This pie is rich and sweet and just wonderful and deserves five stars.

  4. Wonderful! I've been looking for a Brown Sugar pie recipe that made only one pie. All of my "old timey" recipes make two or three pies due to the fact they were created when families were huge. I did have to bake it about 1 hr. and I put it one the lower rack when baking. I didn't let the butter brown, but the pie was excellent. My husband and male friends love this very rich southern pie. Thanks so much for sharing.

  5. This is really good and really rich. Like another reviewer said, it reminds me of a pecan pie without the pecans. I made it using "Recipe#51537" and it turned out great. I had to bake mine about 1 hour, 10 minutes at 350 degrees. I don't think that this pie is meant to completely set. I think it is intended to be a little gooey. Thanks for posting!
