This is a wonderful breakfast bread with a slightly sweet taste. The oat flour adds a nice texture, but if you don't have any, just add more of the wheat flour. From the "Bread Machine Book."
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup oat bran flour
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 1 cup white bread flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons yeast
- 1⁄2 cup chopped pecans
- Add all ingredients except pecans to bread machine, and start machine.
- Use wheat bread cycle for 1-pound loaf.
- Add pecans at the end of the first knead, or when your bread machine"beeps" to add fruit or nuts.
Great Bread! This is a good solid bread. Wonderful when it is warm but still very good cold. Good texture, just the right sweetness. I didn't use the pecan this time but I will next time. I know it will just add to its full flavor! GOOD RECIPE.
This is a great bread to help you wake up in the morning! My husband likes peanut butter on it, I like butter and cinnamon/sugar on it. Either way it is a keeper. Thanks, Carole in Orlando
This bread turned out beautifully! My husband ate half the loaf in one evening!!! It's just perfect for him... he has a sweet tooth and I'm trying to make more healthy treats for him. This is just sweet enough, and nice and cinnamon-y.
