This was a quick frosting that required little work. I did add some cream cheese because I just love cream cheese in my frosting. This recipe went great with banana bread.

This is a very easy recipe. I used 2 cups of confectioner's sugar. One batch was only enough for a single layer cake or a 9x13 cake. Double this recipe for a double layer cake. The frosting had a good flavor,mild and not over powering. You could easily substitute this frosting for any recipe using maple frosting. I would make this again.

Wow is this sweet! I used it to frost Baker's Dozen favorite Butter Cake Baker's Dozen favorite Butter Cake (which is fantastic, by the way). I made a single recipe and only had enough to fill the cake. I then made a triple recipe and had plenty to frost 2-layers. Thanks for posting Aroostook. Sue

I only made a half recipe of this as I only had about half of Kato's Golden Spice Cake #88856 left. (Really nice unusual spice cake, by the way). This went with it *wonderfully* and has a great, albeit very sweet (although this is one reason it goes so well with that spice cake, which is not terribly sweet) molassey flavor and a nice texture- I appreciate that you can adjust the thickness to your preference using however much icing sugar you want. You could make a glaze or a thicker frosting. I made mine thicker and I actually substituted some of the powdered sugar with flour (inspired by Flour Frosting #42282)- turned out very well. I used 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/8 cup sucanat- worked very well! Wonderful buttery flavor and really nice basic homey recipe that is very easy to throw together. I think it could benefit from the addition of a little vanilla extract (or maybe butterscotch, if you're so inclined), but its perfectly delicious as-is. Thanks!!
