  • Bring cranberries and water to a boil.
  • Simmer, uncovered, for 35 to 40 minutes until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  • Stir in the brown sugar until dissolved then remove from heat and cool.

  1. I love combining brown sugar with cranberries. The only difference between this recipe and my recipe is that I don't cook it. YUM! I will keep this in mind though.
     
  2. I love the brown sugar in this! We did a variety of cranberry sauce recipes in preparation for Thanksgiving and this was one of our selections. It really mellowed the tartness of the cranberries and gave it a whole new depth. I can imagine that we will be adding brown sugar to most of our cranberry sauces from now on.
