  1. I cut the brown sugar down to 1/4 cup because The recipe seemed too sweet in my opinion, I also added a tsp. of chipotle pepper to add some smoky heat. It was pretty good and very easy to put together for a quick supper. I topped it with some chopped fresh onions and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese . Served it with Tortilla chips on the side.

  2. Excellent Chili!!! I won a chili cookoff with this recipe and some minor modifications.

  3. An absolute homerun

  4. TOO sweet. Not nearly spicy enough. Lacks depth of flavor. Would not make again.

  5. This was so delicious! The brown sugar gave it a sweet/tangy flavor that reminded me of BBQ-sauce! Th chili was so good - it was hard to stop eating it! I did had some extra veggies (1 cl. garlic, 1 celery stalk, 1 carrot, 1 bell pepper, 1 hot pepper) and used a can of diced tomatoes rather than tomato juice. I also added red pepper flakes and some hot sauce to give it some hotness! This was so good - it is my new chili recipe! Can't wait till it gets cooler so I can make it again!!!

Tweaks

  1. i dont cook that much at all, but i came across this recipe and on a cold rainy night i cooked! The only things i tweaked were sauce instead of juice and added a touch of cumin and a can of rotel. This is the best chili ive ever made. My husband just loved it, which is a home run for me?? Thanks for posting

I love to cook and bake. I work for a non-profit and often bake for my volunteer committees when they have a meeting...now some expect it! My lunch hour at work is normally spent going thru new recipes and photos on the 'zaar.
