This is a real comfort dish. Great for company or just a family dinner when you want a change from plain potatoes.
- Cook the potatoes until tender.
- Sprinkle with salt.
- In a skillet mix the brown sugar and water and butter, bring to a boil.
- Put potatoes in the syrup and cook on low, stirring for 15 minutes.
Great recipe, I was in heaven!!! Only thing I did differently, I added a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. It was tender and buttery and sweet. Thank you for the recipe
This one is great. For years, the only way I would eat sweet potatoes was my Mama's SP casserole, but this has changed my mind. The potatoes were sweet and had a good texture. My 4 year old even liked them. That's saying a lot. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Will definitely be eating more sweet potatoes in our house!
Try using orange juice instead of water.
