Questions & Replies

  1. I would use 6 Knorr beef cubes and crush them up to make the mix. Hope this helps.

  2. I don't h ave beef granules only Knorr beef cubes , one cube to two cups of water. How many cubes should I use for this great sounding recipe?

  1. The instant coffee gives it the dark rich color that we are so accustomed to seeing with brown gravy. You can't taste it. This stuff is GREAT! I will never buy packaged gravy again. Passing it on... =)

  2. This makes a delicious gravy and as an added bonus it is a great money saver for the frugal cooks out there. I used this for recipe #269670 and it was sooooo good. Thx for posting!

  3. I made a one serving batch of this gravy mix to use with Recipe #136338. I omitted the coffee. This worked very well and the family loved the gravy. Thanks for posting.

  4. This was perfect! I cut it down to 2 servings to use over my quick Shepherd's Pie and it was so yummy! Thanks so much...much more economical than the packets (and NO MSG!)

  5. Great gravy--tasted like the packaged gravy to me, and so much cheaper, with ingredients that I had in the kitchen. I served it for Thanksgiving and it was a hit!

Tweaks

  1. I love the fact that this recipe uses low-sodium beef bouillon. I halved the recipe. I used granulated instead of the cubes and add 1 tsp of cocoa powder. Great gravy.

  2. perfecto! thanks so much for posting. Saves money. i used chicken instead of beef as it is what i had, and its still great. Nice to have an easy fix right in the cupboard!
