Directions

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Cut tomatoes in half and arrange them on a lightly oiled baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Cut garlic in thin slivers. Stud tomato halves with garlic.
  4. Place tomatoes under broiler and broil 5 minutes or until garlic starts to burn. Discard garlic and serve.

This meal was quick, quick and love the ease. I followed recipe exactly, except that in my oven 5 minutes wasn't enough time to broil the tomatoes (my oven's getting old) . Though the picture I took includes the garlic in the tomato, I did remove it upon eating it. Considering that tomatoes are not in season they came out pretty good. I can only imagine how much better they would be when tomatoes are at their peak in summer. I will definitely be making these again and love the simplicity which makes the tomato flavor the star of the dish! Thank you threeovens for sharing.

Very good! And I'm not a huge tomato fan. We added basil too.
