  1. I saw this recipe in one of my gooseberry patch cookbooks, only it didn't include butter. I broiled them with just cinnamon and a little brown sugar -- no butter needed ;). These are DELISH and a great way to get in a serving of fruit. My little 17 month old thought they were amazing. :) Thanks for posting the recipe!

  2. Delicious! We skipped butter and sliced up a whole pineapple, broiled for about 9 minutes, rotating the pan every few min. Topped with whipped cream and the kids and man-child loved it!

  3. Great, quick recipe made with items I had on hand. My modifications resulted in a calorie content of about 270 per serving. I used 1T of butter and 1T packed brown sugar per pineapple ring. I spooned some of the sauce on top of the rings on a plate, topped with about 1/3 cup vanilla bean ice cream each, then topped with the remainder of the sauce, which hardened to a caremelized crunch on top of the ice cream. This would be really tasty with thinly sliced apples perhaps sauteed in a pan first, or pears or peaches.

  4. This was a nice little end to dinner. Quick and easy. I used canned pineapple slices this time, to save time, but I think it would be better with fresh pineapple. I agree with making more topping, it was really good. I sprinkled additional cinnamon on after broiling. I do wish I had some ice cream, that will be great to add next time. Thanks!

  5. Wonderful and ideal for a cold day. Will have to make more topping next time...

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
