Good taste, strange consistency. I followed the directions as written except for the omission of the celery. Not sure if I made a mistake along the way or if it just the way this soup tastes but it was gritty. I will probably try the recipe again and use less flour??

This is absolutely delicious! I had two huge bowls as soon as I finished making it (I'm pregnant). I omitted the celery because I don't like it and instead added a whole large onion chopped up. My husband isn't really into carrots, so I decided to that was a bette route. I also used a really nice, white cheddar cheese (so worth it to go for a quality cheese vs. something like Velveeta) and went for the full 2 cups. A perfect,cozy, cool weather dinner!

DS and I had this for lunch today. I had some broccoli in fridge that needed to be used and we chose this. Its very good. I did use a potato masher to break up the broccoli a bit but otherwise followed recipe. We loved it. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Very easy to make and very good. Tastes clean and fresh. I basically doubled the broccoli, onion and celery. Perfect consistency.

Very good!! Quick and easy and my kids love it! I make it exactly as written. I prefer this recipe because i dont like the velveta cheese. I dont like the texture it give the soup.

Loved this... very tasty. For the broccoli, I used Green Giant steamers chopped broccoli (the whole bag) which was perfect and fast. I used 2 cups of sharp cheddar. It was very cheesy, which is how I like it! Totally delicious the next day too. Oh, also, my daughter is a vegetarian so I subbed organic vegetable broth for the chicken broth. Divine! Thanks for a new family favorite!

Pretty good! I shopped for the ingredients before I found a recipe, so I substituted heavy cream for some of the milk, didn't add onions because my husband hates them, and used sharp cheddar. Thanks for providing a recipe without "cream of... soup" or Velveeta, I chose this recipe specifically for its true scratch ingredients. It was really quick to put together. I steamed the broccoli & ran most of it through the food processor before adding it. Everyone loved it and had seconds.
