Made a few insignificant changes when preparing this dish ~ Used fresh broccoli & garlic, & then topped it all off with some crushed Milton's Original Multi-Grain Crackers! We're big fans of broccoli & thoroughly enjoyed this casserole! Will certainly be making this again, 'cause it's a nice new way to enjoy this veggie! Thanks for sharing it! This was very good! I am not a big fan of vegetable casseroles, but an annual potluck I attend always calls for a broccoli casserole. I am very excited to find this recipe, which provides a much fresher taste, and I really appreciate how it doesn't require cream of soups, sour cream, and mayonnaise. I used fresh broccoli, which I quickly blanched (I like the broccoli to remain crisp at the end of the baking time), omitted the salt, used skim milk and low fat cream cheese, and low sodium Ritz crackers for the topping. I also crushed the crackers directly on, without adding additional butter. I was very impressed with how it turned out. Thanks for sharing!

It was OK. I used panko for the topping, as one of the other readers suggested, but I don't think that was the problem. The problem was largely flavorless creamy broccoli, the cheddar gave a bit of taste, and the topping crunch was nice enough, but meh. I won't be repeating this, my husband, 2 year old, and 10 year old all prefer steamed broccoli with a little butter or olive oil.

I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed this. The only thing I did differently was to use Panko in place of the breadcrumbs or crackers. It was really good, and not your typical broccoli casserole. Thanks!

This was delicious! I liked that there was no soup. TI like them but the sodium and MSG is too high in those. Thanks for posting an alternative.

Made this recipe the night before, and cooked when I arrived home from work. Was awesome! Everyone enjoyed it, and I can't wait for today's leftovers. What a great way to get some more good veggies in to everyone! The crisp topping was so very good. Wouldn't change a thing about it and will be making this again for sure in the near future.

Very good! I loved the cheese/crumb topping. I like to get away from the canned soup recipes, too, as DH has issues with MSG. This was easy and good. Thanks!

Very tasty. I am also trying to avoid processed foods with high sodium content. The cream cheese sauce has a nice texture and flavor. This recipe has provided me with inspiration to adapt some of our traditional holiday recipes. Thank you for sharing. Made for Every Day is a Holiday tag.

Very good. I think next time I'll use fresh broccoli instead of the frozen. Mine got a little mushy. Great combination of flavors. Thanks for sharing. Made for Zaar Stars. :)

Another Breezer keeper. Made this evening using fresh broccoli, delish. I also added some leftonver cauliflower and it was to die for. Next time I see cream cheese on special I know what to make with it. Thanks for another yummy delight, made for holiday tag.

This casserole was a welcome addition to my table as a side dish to Sirloin With Creamy Pepper Sauce. I used fresh broccoli pieces, and low fat Ritz crackers. I loved the addition of the cream cheese, which gave it a great flavor. Next time I may try some lemon in there. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us Breezermom! Not only a much healthier version of Broccoli Casserole but also very easy to make and extremely flavoursome. I used a lot more garlic (we love it) and after consulting the Zaar Dictionary I added cumin in step two, lemon zest to the breadcrumbs and I sprinkled chopped bacon on top in the last 20 minutes of cooking. Everyone loved loved it and I'll certainly be making it again. Thank you for sharing another super recipe, breezermom. Made for Every "DAY" Is A Holiday!

This is very good. I used the steamer bags for the broccoli, and it was so easy. You could very easily add some chicken to this for a full main dish. I added a bit more garlic than called for. Made and Reviewed for Every Day Holiday Tag - Thanks! :)

Delicious broccoli casserole! It's not dry but not to runny either. I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and skim milk. I'm sure I probably doubled the garlic, too. I opted to use the Ritz crackers for the topping. I highly recommend this! Thanx for sharing!
