This granola came out wonderful! Mine baked for exactly 1 hour and came out nice and clumpy and full of flavor. Thanks so much for posting!
This is my first attempt at making homemade granola, and boy-o-boy, I'm hooked! My first attempt I had difficulty getting clumps, so I will work on that technique. My one request of Enjolinfam is to include the ingredient "wheat germ" with the others in step #1; I had already combined everything and placed my two trays in the oven before I realized that I had wheat germ still left on the counter! I took my trays back out of the oven and all went back into the mixing bowl! Thanks, Enjolinfam! Made for 123 Hit Wonders.
I made this using maple syrup and added some cashews, flaxseed, sunflower seeds & pepitas. I used Splenda in place of sugar but didn't measure it, just eyeballed it and used a lot less than asked for. I've never done granola with water before & it works great, you don't have to use as much oil. Toddler DD & I both loved this!
We really liked this. The only thing I wished I had some honey on hand. I used maple syrup, and used 1/2 cup almonds, and 1/2 cup pecans. Loved this because there are different variations to make this. (almonds,or pecans) (honey, or maple syrup). A KEEPER.
Made this for 3 Chefs. Made for my dbf who loves granola! Used 1 cup of coconut, didn't add any sugar, but used about 1/2 cup of maple syrup. I found it was starting to burn after a little less than an hour - so next time, I would put it for maybe 45 minutes at 275F. Thanks Enjolifam!
My youngest DS has been bugging me to find a recipe so he could learn how to make homemade granola (store bought is so expensive) when he returns to school in the fall and this is what we made. This was excellent and he will be learning to make it before he leaves for school. I didn't have wheat germ (don't keep many wheat laden items in my house because I'm allergic to it) so I used ground flax seed and I also used quick cooking oatmeal because that is all I had. When I make it again, I'll be trying it with brown sugar (at his request) and using old fashioned oats. Thanks for posting this Enjolinfam!
