  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Spray a 9 x 13" baking pan with baking spray.
  • In small bowl, combine 2 3/4 tsp sugar with cinnamon.
  • Spread each slice of bread with cream cheese and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Cube bread and place in bottom of baking pan.
  • Distribute berries evenly over bread.
  • Sprinkle half the brown sugar over berries and bread.
  • Beat together eggs, milk, and vanilla; pour over bread.
  • Sprinkle with remaining brown sugar.
  • Bake 50-60 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Top with a dollop of whipped cream or sour cream if desired and about a teaspoon of diced strawberries or blueberries.

  1. I have a theory that all of Bev's recipes are to die for... and this one definitely did not disappoint! I used frozen cherries, since that what I had on hand, and the result is divine.
     
  2. This was such a treat, Bev! Using raspberries, I made a half recipe for 2 of us as written except I halved the amt of brown sugar as I like to use powdered sugar on these dishes & DH prefers whipped cream. I half expected it to taste sinfully rich, but to my surprise it was much lighter than expected - maybe due in part to reducing the sugar? Frankly, I would be happy eating this for dessert too & I suspect DH will insist on that tonite. Thx for sharing this lovely recipe w/us. :-)
