This is one of my favorite comfort foods and it is good hot or cold. I serve mine warm with either Whipped Cream on top or some of my own vanilla sauce.
- 10 slices cinnamon-raisin bread, broken up
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Beat eggs with milk.
- Add sugar and nutmeg to the mix.
- Pour over broken up raisin bread in 9" x 9" baking dish.
- Add slices of butter on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
