directions

  • Follow bread machine instructions.
  • I alway watch the bread kneading and mixing, when its in a nice soft round ball, you know that the water to flour is correct.
  • If its not nice and round but floppy it needs more flour.
  • If its too hard and dry or mixer is having a hard time, it needs more water.
  • After cycle ends, remove and cool on rack.
  • Allow to cool 1 hour before slicing.

Questions & Replies

  1. I have a Cuisinart Bread Machine 100, any suggestion on setting. I tried the whole wheat #2 setting. I haven’t cut it yet, the crust looks good but it looks doughy where the hook came out.

  1. This is a light and tender bread that is bursting with lovely flavours. I prefer to just use the dough cycle and then bake the bread in a regular oven. Thanks for a great recipe! Made for ZWT3.

  2. I have made it twice it is better in my machine to cut out the 1/8 cup of water and only use 3/4 teaspoon of yeast it was perfect. My bread machine is very picky!

  3. I am not a real fan of limpa bread in general, but I thought this was good. The use of all-purpose and rye flour ensures a tender crumb, since there is less gluten than in bread flour. The bread is very aromatic.

  4. This wasn't missing anything! Molasses is for DARK rye. Limpa is a light bread, and the flavor in this with the orange and seeds, is very tasty! Had this with a barley soup, but can't wait to have it toasted for breakfast. Thanks for posting!

  5. I think the flavor that was missing was molasses.
