This doesn't really taste like a bagel, but it's dang good.
This is a great bread recipe. The consistancy is nice and dense, but the flavor is more like an egg bread. I does taste great toasted and with butter or cream cheese.
Actually, one of boys gave this a six. It was an excellent flavor and nice and thick.
I was super pleased with this. It's dense and when eaten (untoasted) shortly after cooling, it really does have that slightly chewy texture of a good bagel! I used the basic setting as written with the light crust option. We spread cream cheese and jelly on this. I'll be making this often. Thanx!
