Bread Dumplings

This is my grandmother's recipe. She grew up in Austria, moving to the United States when she married. She always served these with roast beef and gravy.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 34-1 loaf French bread, cubed
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 12 cups cream of wheat
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
  • milk, enough to make soft dough

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  2. Form into 2" balls and steam until done.
