Bread Dumplings

"This is my grandmother's recipe. She grew up in Austria, moving to the United States when she married. She always served these with roast beef and gravy."

• Serves: 4-6

ingredients

• 3⁄4 - 1 loaf French bread, cubed
• 1 cup flour
• 1 1⁄2 cups cream of wheat
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 eggs, beaten
• bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
• milk, enough to make soft dough

directions

1. In a large bowl, mix ingredients until a soft dough forms.
2. Form into 2" balls and steam until done.
