This is my grandmother's recipe. She grew up in Austria, moving to the United States when she married. She always served these with roast beef and gravy.
- 3⁄4-1 loaf French bread, cubed
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1⁄2 cups cream of wheat
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
- milk, enough to make soft dough
- In a large bowl, mix ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Form into 2" balls and steam until done.
