  1. Sift together flour,baking powder,salt and cinnamon,set aside.
  2. Cream together shortening,butter and brown sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy,using mixer at medium speed.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla,beat well.
  4. Gradually stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture,mixing well.
  5. Stir in half of the brazil nuts.
  6. Spread mixture into greased 15 1/2x10 12x1 inch jelly roll pan.
  7. Beat egg whites slightly.
  8. Brush over dough.
  9. Sprinkle with remaning nuts.
  10. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
  11. Cool slightly in pan on rack.
  12. While still warm,cut into bars.
