joyce brown from hope lodge makes these but not the dates they can stay in frig for a week and you can make as many as you want she uses bran buds

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. In bowl pour boiling water over dates and baking soda.
  2. Let cool.
  3. Cream together shortening and sugar.
  4. Add eggs, salt, flour.
  5. Blend well.
  6. Alternate flour with buttermilk.
  7. Stir in cereal.
  8. Put into muffin tins lined with paper cups.
  9. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
  10. Muffins can be stored in refrigerator several weeks or in freezer, then taken out as needed.
